Pilax RISEUP Classes

If you've signed up for Rise Up then you have long covid or another form or CFS. These classes are designed to ease you into exercise or at least, keep you moving. Categories are as follows: INTRO is people who have not exercised much prior to their condition or, who have a more severe condition. MOV ON is a step up from INTRO PREV FIT are for those previously fit, those with less severe conditions or anyone who is ready to take a step up from MOVON CHAIR classes unless otherwise stated are the same as INTRO but adapted to a chair. A few CHAIR classes are done in PREV FIT and MOV ON mode while taking into account the need to remain mostly seated. As someone with mild long covid myself and having grown up around others with chronic conditions, I understand the lack of predictability of a single day. There is no order to how you should take these classes or when. You are your own advocate and must decide what is right for you each day. Don't worry if you go some time without doing anything. It is important to move at your own pace. I have designed these classes with a Pilates framework in mind, my own dance experience as well as my own experience with long-covid (ongoing) and osteoarthritis in some joints. I have tested them out on clients and they work well for them. These classes will guide you in exploring what your body can and can't do within a safe range of motion if you take into account how you feel each day and do not over repeat any movements taught in a single session. I do not guarantee these will cure you. A cure also needs to take into account, supplements, diet and other treatments from qualified health professionals. However, if these classes are taken regularly, they will help prevent decrease in muscle tone or slowly build some back up, assist with gentle fascia release and promote general well-being. They are a great series to assist you with your walks or other forms of rehab or just as a stand alone while you are unable to do anything else.
